ATLANTA first responders smashed a vehicle’s window to rescue a driver stranded in the middle of a flooded street last Thursday (September 14).
Bodycam footage shows one police officer and a fire rescue captain outside the partially submerged vehicle breaking the driver-side window with a baton to pull the driver out to safety.
The rescue happened on Peachtree Street, near Atlanta’s Public Safety Headquarters.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, the water was so deep the vehicle was being lifted from the ground and the doors would not open.
The first responders were identified by the Department as Atlanta Fire Rescue Captain Terrance Simon and Atlanta Police Officer Rayando Bryan.
